I personally prefer matt lipsticks, as I
think they are easier to wear in the day time. I picked up two lipsticks from Revlon's new ColorBurst
Matte Balm collection. I picked up the colours Elusive and striking.
The lipsticks kind of reminds me of the Clinque
chubby sticks but matt. The packaging looks like a lip crayon/ pencil. The lipsticks are perfect for travelling as
they are not too small, to get lost in your bag or too big. Also I really like
the application as, it's not messy. And
the lipstick has a twist at the base, meaning you don't have to sharpen the
lipstick.
The product does have an odd minty smell to it, but nothing too strong. The colour goes very smoothly on the lips. The lipstick is very lightweight on the lips and doesn't dry the lips.Even though this is a matt balm, it's still very moisturising on the lips. The product has Triple complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter in the ingredients, which help moisturise your lips. I personally love the finish, as it had the perfect settle velvet finish. And the texture feels amazing on the lips.
I found that the red lipstick had a stronger
colour pay off than the pink, depending on how strong you want the colour to be.You may want to put two coats of the lipstick, however overall great pigmentation. The lipstick doesn't have a long wear, and
does need to be reapplied every 2-3 hours. And the colour doesn't flake on your lips or stain
your lips. The lipstick does however smudge a little overtime.
I personally like the shade striking (red)
over the elusive (pink) on my skin tone. And I think all of the shades in the
collection can be worn day or night.Overall I really liked these lip products and would recommend them.I Love that these lip balms are matt without drying the lips. And I look forward to trying out the other shades in the collection.
